This team dominates the final rounds every week! It's Cerberus!

Alright folks! No time for messin’ around, let’s get right into the action! On hand tonight we had teams Movers & Shakers, Pisces, Gas, Cerberus, Jimi Hendrix, B One, Phoenix Babies and Vegas Bound! We kicked off the night with a new game, Finish Lines! Everyone seemed to really like this game and it didn’t take teams long at all to get into full swing! B One really picked it up a notch tonight showing his knowledge of Green Acres, while Cerberus taught me new ways to finish some of my favorite sayings.  It was a very close round and it ended in a tie between Gas & Cerberus with eight points each! After the tie-breaker, it was team Gas who took the first round!

The second round tonight was Go Mental, I can tell you now that the teams on hand tonight, were beyond mental. Some of the answers I got on this one were really funny and deserving of style points! Very inventive and clever answers for this game tonight! Pisces seemed especially creative, almost too much, and yet they almost won the round! I say almost because Cerberus pulled ahead for the victory garnering sixteen points for the round with all teams trailing close behind. It was good times.  We then played our usual Bonus Beer Question and team Gas took the brews!

Our final game tonight to end this evening of brain building and love was Triviathon!  We lost Phoenix Babies for this last round, but we still had seven teams to finish out the night! Teams were doing their best to really concentrate on the questions and I was doing my best to make them laugh to distract them… it works well. Teams were on a mission on this third and final round folks, perhaps a more seriously silly round was never had. The night definitely ended on a crescendo of mad guess work and deducing skills the likes of which I’ve never seen or heard before. It was fun. And Cerberus won with twenty-two points!

The overall point winner tonight was Cerberus with forty-six points! Great job tonight!

I had a feelin’ it was gonna be a great night here at TGIFridays, and I was definitely right! There was a lot of energy in the room tonight which always makes for great games! The teams tonight were Scandals & Animals, KC, The Gold Explorers, Tim, Mistress Bates, Jewell, Zanakis, FOAD and Team Gas!

The first game was Refraze and all teams came in full steam ahead! There was little to no hesitation with these teams for this first round and I knew it was gonna be a close one. I did have one team giving me answers that I can’t even repeat here, but they were just trying to make me laugh! So, two teams came out of this tied with a perfect nine points! Teams KC and Mistress Bates were lined up to go head to head for the tie-breaker! After the dust settled it was KC who came away with the win!

The second round tonight was a new game called Eye Know. This game features visual clues along with an additional question for bonus points. All teams took to this one quickly and the points started adding up. This round was extremely close, but Mistress Bates took the win with fifteen and a half points!

Our final game tonight was Chronology and all teams kicked it into high gear with this one!  It’s always great to see teams so into the game, and it I’m sure the prize money was somewhat of a motivating factor! This round almost ended with a three way tie, but Mistress Bates pulled ahead with the last question! They finished the round with fifteen points and $25 cash!

The overall point winner tonight was Mistress Bates giving them another $50 cash for a grand total of $75 (not counting the free appetizers too!) Great job guys!

Team Skinny B's is still awaiting the grand return of Guy Marvel.

Team Fubar was anything but.

Team Clam Hammers had to go home early. It was past their curfew.

Team VP came for the victory points.

Team DMD stuck around for another round of drinks just cuz the game sounded interesting.

Team Bluballz looked like they were having a blast. Bluballz and all.

It was another great Friday night of fun at Champps!  We had 11 teams join us for the craziness.

Round 1 was based on Hink Pink.  Teams are challenged to come up with two rhyming words based on a clue and a required number of syllables.  Team Cranky Mother wasn’t so cranky when they put up a great score of 7.  Team Kick A** decided that their navel lint collection was more interesting and ran home to catalog it.  Team Skinny B(r)itches had a great run with a 6 point round.

Round 2 was based on Balderdash.  Teams are challenged to come up with the definition for obscure words.  If they get it before help it’s worth one point.  After multiple choice help, it’s worth 1 point.  Team 5 out of 5 had a great round and posted a score of 9.  Team Clam Hammers posted a strong score of 14.

Round 3 was based on a Mind Games Live! original: Out of Order. Teams are given a list of things and asked to put them in a particular order.  Team DMD posted an amazing score of 24.  Team Fubar had a strong round and managed a score of 22.  Team Bluballz was right behind them with a score of 20.  Team Crayon managed a huge score of 29.  First place went to Team VP who posted a massive score of 31 points.

Overall the night went to Team VP who managed a total score of 55!

Well, the Champps crowd is certainly is fun-loving!  And other than being the first night at Champps, there were a coupla other firsts.  It was the first time I’ve had to break up trash-talkin… between 10-year olds and adults!  Hah!  And the first time I’ve had to announce the departure of a team because it was past their bedtime.

Thanks, Warriors for  coming out… you missed winning round 1 by only 1/2 point.  We hope to see you back!

We started with the Warriors, Tugg, CSU, JTT, Still Employed and Limey John.  The game was Hink Pink and four teams made it a photo finish: with 8.5 points were CSU, Warriors and Still Employed, but Tugg scored a perfect 9!  Good job ladies!

Although the young Warriors had to take off, we gained Bootylicious, DJ Stew and Anil Ashish for round 2.  The game was Smart Alec, and we had scores all over the map on this one.  But with a commanding lead, it was Still Employed winning round 2.  And for the Bonus Beer Question, Still Employed shared some beer and the win with CSU.

So it became anybody’s game when Still Employed checked out… they had already been there quite some time before we even showed up to start Mind Games Live.  So the Dixie Chicks stepped in – they had been watching the early rounds and wanted to give it a go.

So round 3 featured the game Fast Figure and it put everybody to the test.  This time Bootylicious beat out DJ Stew by one point for the win.  But in the end for total points it was going to either be Tugg (the round 1 winners) or CSU (the BBQ winners) taking home the big prize.  And it was… CSU!

It was good competition and tons of fun!  Now that you know what’s up, we hope to see you back at Champps at Park Meadows.
