Another awesome Tuesday night for MGL at Division Ale House. We had 6 fantastic teams as well! They varied from 12, 10, 5, 4, 3, and 2 person teams. Here were the lovely teams that graced us with their presence: The Too’s, Chocolate Bacon, Grandma Has a Boyfriend?, Bromance Tower, Ultimate #2, and Command Center.
Round 1 brought us to the game Finish Lines It was a supremely close round. There were ties all over the place, but it came down to a tie between Grandma Has a Boyfriend?, and Bromance Tower. Of course we had to go to our tie breaker question. Amazingly enough, Bromance Tower had the EXACT number for our answer and won round 1 along with some PBR cans.
For Round 2 we played the game Go Mental! Our teams were really geared up for playing this game and they seriously used their style points to their advantage; drawing awesome pictures of the back of their answer sheets. Yet again, we had a pretty close round, and AGAIN had a tie but this time between Ultimate #2 and The Too’s. And AGAIN our winner of the tie breaker, Ultimate #2, answered with the EXACT answer. We had some pretty brainy players. So Ultimate #2 won round 2 and won some infused vodka shots. Yum!
Our BBQ went to The Too’s! Well done guys!
Round 3 was full of even more style points and ample pictures again. Our game was Making The List a MGL original. We had three teams that were going neck and neck, but thanks to the style points Grandma Has a Boyfriend? took the cheese AND a free appetizer for their next visit. They are sure to use that this coming Tuesday in hopes to win another awesome prize.
Our final score winners were The Too’s! They definitely got the gist of the use of style points and won by only half a point! Style points Chocolate Bacon Grandma Has a Boyfriend? Bromance Tower Ultimate #2 Our final score winners The Too’s
These Tuesday’s are getting better and better!
Until next time, this is Alexis
It was a record for MGL at Division Ale House Tuesday. Only starting 15 minutes late, we had 11 teams! 11!!! Our brilliant teams were: Team Schwartz, Team Kenny, Team Awesome, Bacon Fire, Meetup, We Want Tasty Prizes, Birthday Suit, The Team of Lost Souls, Butch’s Bitches, My Mom, and Grenade to Landmine Free Zone.
The night was a hit! We started out with the game Urban Myth. Our teams were asked questions of differing categories and had to decide whether the statement/question was true or a myth (false). It was a VERY close game. However Meetup happened to win by two points over Team Kenny and won some snazzy Division Ale House t-shirts.
We continued on to Round 2 with the game Categorically Speaking. This round was mighty feisty! All our teams were on edge and ready to win some prizes and seriously used their style points. We even had a sneak attack BBQ while the answers for question 6 were being scored. Team Awesome was the winner of a tasty round of PBR. Birthday Suit won PBR for winning Round 2 after a tie-breaker with Grenade to Landmine Free Zone but Grenade won the actual BBQ in the game and got a sweet round of draft beers!
We ended the night with the classic game Family Feud. Style points were awarded throughout this game, and it definitely paid off! This round was seriously close, but Meetup was the winner and gained some shots. After going through the overall score Birthday Suit won! It was all the better that it was one of the team member’s birthdays so EVERYONE sang “Happy Birthday” to him!
What a great crowd, and a great night! This week gets the cake!
Until next week, this is Alexis
What a night for Mind Games Live at Division Ale House. We had a nice turnout with 5 teams: Prestige Worldwide, N.K.O.T.B., Baconation, Schweitzer, and G-Vegas.
Round 1 we played the game Tri-Bond. Our teams fought valiantly and we ended up with a three-way tie and HAD to break into the tie-breaker questions. However Prestige Worldwide was no match and they took Round 1 and a sweet Division Ale House t-shirt with them.
Round 2 brought us into the game Don’t Quote Me. The teams were neck and neck, but yet again Prestige Worldwide took Round 2 and a delicious round of Bells Oberon.
Our BBQ pulled in some more teams and team Prestige Worldwide won a sweet round of draft beer!
Finishing out the game with Round 3, we played Word Sweep! This round was the closest of all! Every team was fighting tooth and nail to get those points so that they could win the ever coveted round of infused vodka shots. But no one could fool Schweitzer. They took Round 3 by one point!
For overall points Prestige Worldwide took the game!
It was a great night and bound to be an even better game next week with some even more exciting prizes! Next week people can win two movie tickets with a $10 gift card added in. Sounds like a good date night!
Until next week, this is Alexis.
Tuesday was an interactive night indeed for Mind Games Live at Division Ale House. We maxed at three teams and they held their own for sure. Our teams were: Cleveland Rocks, doobies!, and Mr. Magoo.
We started out in round 1 with the game ReFraze. But doobies! wasn’t to be fooled by these mind bending phrases and took round 1 and gained a sweet Division Ale House t-shirt.
Round 2 took us into the game Garage Band: The Game. Each team did a fantastic job. Only one team could win round 2, and that team was Cleveland Rocks, winning by two points.
Going into the BBQ we had an interesting happening where both Cleveland Rocks and doobies! put down the exact same number. Who knew? However they went over by far too much and Mr. Magoo took the round of drafts!
We then went into Round 3 with the game Likewise. How can you do such a scoring for this game with only three teams? Style Points, that’s how. All three teams were strongly encouraged to use those style points to their advantage. Surprisingly, there was a three way tie! So, we pulled out a tie-breaker question and doobies! won not only round 3 but won with overall points and took the game! It was a fun night at Division Ale House!
Can’t wait for next time.
Tonight at Division Ale House we had a quaint get together of three teams. It was so nice and cuddly. The teams that graced us were Shell-ason, GCS, and the returning team Sweet Spot.
We started out the night playing Hink Pink. It was neck and neck the majority of the game, but Sweet Spot pulled out ahead and won round 1 with half a point. Continuing on to round 2 with the classic bluffing game Balderdash. Yet again, the game was seriously close. GCS happened to gain that extra point and took round 2 and they also took the BBQ! Round 3 brought us to the game Eye Know. It was stumper after stumper. But these questions were no match for team Sweet Spot and they took round 3. After adding up the scores for the ENTIRE game Sweet Spot had an amazing win the second week in a row and won the whole game.
It was a fun cozy night and we’re all looking forward to next weeks game with three completely new games!
This is Alexis, until next week.
It was a wet and wild night for MGL at Division Ale House this Tuesday. It was raining cats and dogs, but people braved the torrential weather and got their bums over for some good old trivia! People even played against their tables to make the game that much more interesting. These are the teams that graced us with their presence:
Goats & Crows,
Darryl The Animal,
Mike Wnuk,
Little Lebowski Urban Achievers,
and
All About Style Points.
We started off with Finish Lines. Everyone was doing a fantastic job answering the puzzles. We ended the round with a tie between Lebowski and Goats & Crows. But after the tie-breaker question Goats and Crows took round one and some delicious 312.
We then went on to play 1 Taco Short of a Combination, and yet again we had a tie! Mike Wnuk, and Lebowski. They thought long and hard over this tie-breaker, but Lebowski took Round 2 and the always enjoyable infused vodka shots. We went right into the BBQ of which Style Pointswon a round of draft beer!
Finally, we finished out the game with Round 3’s It Fits. People definitely used their style points to their advantage during this round. It was such a great ending to the game. Mike Wnuk, and Lebowski, tied again! But with only three teams left at the end of the game they decided to let Style Points join in on the tie-breaker, forgetting that this was for $10 off their tab. But Lebowski had their smarty pants on and took that coupon to the bank! (or to their server)
Adding up the scores there was the closest game ever, with Little Lebowski Urban Acheivers winning the entire game by half a point. It was a great game and a great night…especially after the sky decided to stop creating monsoon weather for this midwest city.
Darryl The Animal Goats & Crows All About Style Points Mike Wnuk The winning team! Little Lebowski Urban Achievers
Off to prepare for another awesome week!
Until next time, this is Alexis.
We had a blast Tuesday for Mind Games Live at Division Ale House, with the six awesome teams: los ünmentionábles, What Would Tiger Woods Do?, Wait wait don’t tell me, Today is Tuesday, Boobies!, and My Couch Pulls Out But I Don’t. We started out the night playing Billboard 100 with some awesome team play. At one point los ünmentionábles, was head to head with Couch, but at the end the Couch guys won Round 1 with 8 points and some nifty Jameson t-shirts. Now they can go out into the world in true style.
Round 2 brought us into the game Word Up. Everyone was doing a splendid job. Their answers were ingenious, but many people were thinking the same thing and quite a few answers were duplicated. But that didn’t scare Tiger Woods, and they took Round 2 with grace winning those ever loved infused vodka shots.
Our BBQ was met with only three teams left standing, or sitting really: Tiger Woods, Wait wait…, and Boobies!. With only .2% off Tiger Woods won yet again!!!
On to our final round of the night we played the family favorite Family Feud! Our last three teams left were really up on their knowledge of how random information. Yet again, it was neck and neck, but then, like a good horserace, Boobies! pulled out into first and won Round 3 and a delectable round of PBR!
After adding up the scores for the overall score Wait wait…, and Boobies! were tied. So, after some deliberation team Boobies! won the game!!
It was such a great game and we can’t wait for next week. This is Alexis, until next time.
There was quite a group for Mind Games Live at Division Ale House with a total of 7 teams. To introduce them, we had : Frank & Beans, Name, Boobies!, Rich Zito’s Team, B&L, The Girls, and The Bacon Inquisition.
We started off the night with the game Wuzzles which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. It kept their minds working and begging for more. The teams were doing so well that we had a tie between The Girls and Rich Zito’s Team. However The Girls were too cunning and took Round 1 AND a round on BL Lime (but they were kind enough to share their wealth with Rich).
After a short break we kept on going with the ever intriguing Origin. All the teams were surprisingly stumped by the questions of where and how certain saying came about. But their answers were quite amusing nonetheless. Winning this round two points ahead of everyone else was Rich Zito’s Team, gaining the glory of winning his first legit round, and gaining some Jameson shots.
Then to our Bonus Beer Question! When was the pop-up toaster invented? None other than Boobies! won that question, gaining the ever more interesting Ommegang beer (that no one had hear about, but apparently it’s quite good.)
Finally to the third round of the night with the game Making the List, a MGL original. It was a fairly close round, with all teams fighting valiantly to obtain the coupon for $10 off their tab. But after all was said and done, Rich Zito’s Team won round three!
After adding up all the scores for the entire game Rich Zito’s Team won with Frank & Beans at a close second. What a game!
And here are the lovely mugs of all our delightful teams. Until next time, this is Alexis.
Tuesday night at Division Ale House was a spectacle. We had more that twice the teams than the previous week with 7 teams total! And what a jovial crowd they were, with some changing their team names halfway through. Our glorious teams were: Las Hermanas, Okie’s, Ten Inches Soft, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Crotch, J&H/Team Awesome, Funon/Ket-Sup, and Maestro.
We started off the night with Mad Gab. Everyone was doing so well, even with the use of style points. But winning by half a point was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Crotch with 8 points and some snazzy Jameson shirts.
After a short break we continued on to Categorically Speaking. We got some masterly answers of which a favored response by J&H/Team Awesome to a sex symbol’s last name beginning with A was Bea Arthur. Those witty teams, if that’s not style then nothing is. Okie’s even tried to get SPEED points by answering so quickly the questions were barely finished being read when their “team runner” would bring up their answers. However, their speed couldn’t catch up with Harry Potter’s quick witted answers of which they won their second round in a row with the delectable infused vodka shots (which they kindly gave to J&H/Team Awesome).
The BBQ had a tie between Las Hermanas, and Funon/Ket-Sup. But, after some contemplation Las Hermanas won the tie fair and square!
And then they left, before their picture could be taken…
But here are the teams that did stay!
On to Round 3 with Chronology! We had some pretty smart teams with a Firey, Awesome, Kes-tupy three way tie! A THREE way tie! So yet again, we had a tie-breaker. Harry Potter tried with all their might for some style points by drawing pictures of wrestlers through the 80’s and 90’s on the back of their answer sheets (pictured above) from Vader, and Jake the Snake, to Hulk Hogan, but we still had that tie! They weren’t the only ones with style. With an amazing EXACT answer Funon/Ket-sup won Round 3 along with the ever so coveted $10 off their bill.
Going right in to who won the game…surprise, surprise Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Crotch took the game winning by seven points and gaining a delectable bottle of wine! It was a great game and all the teams played valiantly!
What a game indeed. It was exciting the whole way through.
This is Alexis, until next time.
Mind Games Live, Tuesday night at Division Ale House was a special one indeed. With only three teams (Code Orange, Holla At Cha Boy, and The Curious George’s) gracing us with their presence, it was a blessing in disguise with the microphone refusing to comply with the request to…work. Thank goodness for good vocal projection!
The night began with the ever so enjoyable Mad Gab. It’s not what you SAY, it’s what you HEAR! After each puzzle of unrelated words all three teams were doing swimmingly with correct answer after correct answer. Code Orange, Holla At Cha Boy, and The Curious George’s were not to be fooled. They were smarter than the average bear. Round 1 was completed with each team scoring 9 points. A three way tie! Hence there was a TIE-BREAKER. (Looks like the teams didn’t take advantage of style points). The tie was broken and The Curious George’s won Round 1 and a round of PBR (the drink of champions, or your grandpa).
After a short break we went on to play Famous Name Us. The teams were given two random facts about an actor, musician, movie, or animated character. If they couldn’t find the answer after the first fact (in which they could get 2 points), they had the option to bring up their answer after the second (only being able to receive 1 point). This particular game showed to be a little more difficult. Each team had the possibility to win a total of 18 points, but the teams caught on with that mystical option of style points and managed to get a leg up. Holla At Cha Boy had a little trouble getting their answers in on the first clue and fell back a slight amount. But at the end of the game, after both Code Orange and The Curious George’s used their style points to their advantage, there was another tie! ANOTHER TIE! After given some time to decide, the answers were brought up, looked over, and held for a slight amount of time to add that feeling of suspense. But the winner of Round 2 had to be announced. Without further ado, Code Orange won Round 2 along with a round of infused vodka (of either hot pepper, or pineapple, both delicious in their own right).
Going right into the BBQ (Bonus Beer Question) which results in, you guessed it, a round of beer! But not just any beer, draft beer of your choice. As Ferris Bueller would say “That is so choice”. While reading the question, Holla At Cha Boy get’s up and leaves us all. Abandoning the game without a goodbye. Well, they did say goodbye, saying they’d be back next week, but they left before a picture could be taken of their shiny happy faces. Next week, for sure. We still had Code Orange and The Curious George’s to keep company. Turning in their answers for BBQ both teams went over the number of the answer but Code orange was much closer, winning their beloved round of their choice of draft beer.
After the taking of pictures and a slight break, we went on to Round 3. Thankfully we had a lovely member of our audience that jumped on to the team Holla At Cha Boy so that we could continue with the game. Round 3 just so happened to be the game Likewise. A game where two cards are put next to each other and teams need to pick an answer that would most likely be answered by another team. Seeing as we only had three teams playing, it was decided to make the game a little interesting. Style points weren’t just an option, they were encouraged. It made for a very interesting round. At one point it seemed as though a mini war was going on between Code Orange and The Curious George’s. At any moment they might jump up and have a rumble or run into the streets snapping their fingers as they walked a la The Sharks and The Jets from West Side Story. Making digs about each other in their answers with rather ingenious responses. It was quite a sight. It seemed, however, that one team was using both their intellect AND style to get the points they needed. Code Orange won Round 3 fair and square with the prize of $10 off their bill!
It was then time to add up the scores from the entire game. Holla At Cha Boy with 42.5 points, The Curious George’s with 43, and winning by 4 points was Code Orange with 47 points! Such a close game the whole way through. It goes to show that style points really can win or lose a game for you. Code Orange won both the pride of beating their new found enemy The Curious George’s and a bottle of wine. But the after all was said and done, both teams shook hands like the good challengers they are and went their separate ways with “Congratulations” and “Good Game”.
This is Alexis signing off until next week.
Surely with another interesting and exciting game.
