Round 1: Wuzzles
People sure enjoy these picture/word puzzles. The enjoyed it so much it resulted in one of the biggest Tie breakers I have seen. Those teams involved at the end were Buffalo Theory, Awesome, Indecision for Dummies, Metta World Peace, Just The Tip, The Smiths, Hello Mcfly, and More Hootie pleez. Who came out on top of this massive scrum you ask, why it was….
Winner: Awesome
Round 2:Where in the World
Another ridiculously close round. Teams really knew their geography trivia. As a slew of teams tied with a near perfect 16 points. those teams being The Buffs, Buffalo Theory, Metta World Peace, Perry’s Taco, Hello Mcfly, and Legen- Wait for it-dary.
Winner: Legen-wait for it-Dary.
Well worth the wait gentlemen
Round 3: Start to Finish
Almost all the teams were around from the start as we raced to the finish lines. Being stylish matters and this round emphases that as the team that won, won because of a style point. that team was…
Winner:Metta World Peace
and now for the nights over all winner
3rd place (Tie) Buffalo Theory and Indecision for Dummies 50 points
2nd place Hello Mcfly 52 points
I HATE HALF POINTS!!!! Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here
and the nights big winner
Metta World Peace 52 1/2 points
Tonight was our kickoff of the new Old Chicago location in Plymouth, MN. We had tons of fun. Teams playing were Robless, Road Rash, Am I Really a Tiger, Da Beers, Oak Towners, Awesome, Russ, Business Socks, Spartans, Falcons, and So Do.
The first round we played was Wuzzles. It was a pretty close game and we had a playoff between Road Rash and Business Socks. In the end, Business Socks won the $10 gift certificate.
The second game was Where in the World. Some teams knew their trivia and got tons of points. Business Socks won the round and received another $10 gift certificate.
BBQ!!! Jim from Road Rash was the winner!
The last game of the night was Start 2 Finish. It was another really close round but Road Rash ended up winning the round and the night. They won $10 for the last round and another $35 for having the most points.
Great job, everyone!
Another exciting night at Old Chicago Uptown! With more and more regular teams coming back each week, we have some great rivalries heating up! Teams last night were: Pharmers, Fork, Us, Snakes on a Bar, Fargo, eh?, Nascar Superstars, Gumby, MJ & Andrew, Rally Monks, Cracktacular (name change from their usual Chicks– incognito??), Team One, Where’s Doug?, BBBZZZ, Bill’s Boys and India. Thank you all for coming! I had SO much fun with you.
In Round 1, we played Wuzzles. For the second week in a row, this came down to a double playoff between Team One and Snakes on a Bar. Both teams had a perfect score and used their Email Extra to make it to the playoff. Both teams turned in the same answer to the playoff question, both teams off by 2. The second playoff question was won by Team One who, once again, heckled Snakes on a Bar for being just slightly less intelligent. Here is a picture of them! This team also took the BBQ!
In Round 2, we played Where in the World. This round was won by Nascar Superstars, another regular team, who appears to be super great at factual games!
In Round 3, we played Start 2 Finish. Nascar Superstars won this round as well. These guys know the facts! They also had the most points for the night, taking home in total a free appetizer, a $10 gift certificate and a coupon for a free pizza. Next week, these guys will feast like kings! Congratulations Nascar Superstars! If you look at their picture from last week’s post, you will notice a similarity in their appearances… LUCKY SHIRTS?!?! Here is another photo of them!
I hope to see you all next week!

Hi hi all!! MGL Minnetonka has been rocking out with regulars. Last week we had Team Jon, Guano, Chicken Coop, Drunk Dudes, and the G-Store. During round 1 we played Hink Pink and Team Guano managed to maintain their title as the round 1 champions. This week though, they were drinking white russians and decided to give the bucket of beer to team Chicken Coop which was greatly appreciated.
During round 2 we played Pass The Popcorn. During this round it was a battle of the regulars between Guano, Jon, and Chicken Coop. This round was tied all the way through and went into a playoff between Guano and Chicken Coop…Jon decided to hold on to his email extra for the final round. It was a close playoff but Guano managed to squeak by and win the free appetizer. Jon, from Team Jon, won the BBQ.
During round 3 team G-Store joined in and almost upset all of the regulars but Jon was able to hold it together and emerge victorious. He also walked away with the $10 gift certificate. But, that was not the end of the night because the $20 gift certificate came down to a tie between Team Jon and Guano. It was intense and there was much deliberation but after guesses were made it was Team Jon who came out on top! It was an upset to the other teams who had lost in similar fashions the prior week when Team Jon swept the last two rounds and won the $30 in gift certificates. Luckily, handshakes were exchanged and laughs were shared because afterall, that is the nature of Mind Games Live, and the reason we all play
I’m looking forward to this Thursday and I encourage everyone to come down and play at the Old Chicago in Minnetonka at Hwy. 7 & Hwy. 101. See you then!
It was an exciting time in Old Chicago. The trip there was a bit harrowing(one team named themselves after my misadventures, can you guess which team it was?) But I will not be stopped. The teams particapating that evening were as follows. Suckiest ninjas, Blue Jays, ABMM, Russell Sumpusup, Beware of Quauside, Metta World Peace, Frank, Cop Blockers, Shell Backs, Dee Kim, Peddle Faster I hear Banjos, 2 wheels, and Free OJ
Round 1: Hink Pink
Nearly flawless is how I describe this round. Almost every team was perfect this round, heck a team comprised of young children scored 7 1/2 points. it came down to a Tie Breaker between Shell Backs Metta World Peace, and Frank. The winner was……
Fun for the whole family and friends
Round 2: Pass the popcorn
The next round was close for different reasons teams were slightly tripped up by our clues resulting in one team running away with an Oscar for movie aficionados of the night that team being…..
Winner:Russell Sumpusup
i forgot to ask which one was Russell
Round 3: Word Sweep
teams were once again picking up the pace in our 3rd round. All teams were perfect through 5 questions. and there was not much room for error in fact 3 teams tied forcing another nail biter of a tiebreaker. Those teams were Russell Sumpusup
Blue Jays and Cop Blockers……
Winner: Cop Blockers
Just as luck would have it I was cop blocked from taking their picture
And now for the nights over all winner
3rd place:Shell Backs 52 points
2nd place: Frank 53 points
Over all Champion : Russell Sumpusup 54points
Hey champs Wassupp
Who is looking forward to Mind Games Live trivia tomorrow at Old Chicago Uptown? I know I am! We have had more regulars coming again and again, which definitely heats up the competition! Here is a recap of what happened last week!
Teams last week included Voldemort, Smart Alexs, Beer Today Gone Tomorrow, Snakes on a Bar, Team 1, Cabbage, Tough Crowd, Chicks, Awesomer, Nascar Superstars, Cheers, Keith!/Velvet Brick (changed name halfway through), and Space Camp.
For Round 1, we played my most favorite MGL game, Hink Pink. We had a three way tie on this between Voldemort, Snakes on a Bar, and Team 1. They all played a perfect round and used their email extras. Then we moved into a DOUBLE play-off round. Snakes on a Bar and Team 1 turned in the same correct answer, so they were given another question from which Team 1 emerged victorious. Congrats, Team 1!
Here is a photo of Team 1 bragging about their big win to Snakes on a Bar (my idea).
For Round 2, we played Pass the Popcorn. Several teams did very well during this round, but Chicks took the win on this round because they used their Email Extra! Congrats to you, Chicks!
The BBQ was won by Nick L. from Voldemort. Great job, Nick on your stunning guesstimation abilities, as well as your glorious mustache!
For Round 3, we played Word Sweep. This was won by Nascar Superstars because they did the best and added their Email Extra on top of that. Here is a photo of them enjoying their win.
And finally, with a solid performance through out the night but no prior wins, Snakes on a Bar had the most points for the night and walked away with the pizza coupon!
Another rockin’ night at Old Chicago on Grant in Thornton. Tonight we had 11 teams: Booze Hounds, Victorious Secret, What Would Tim Tebow Do?, Gubernaculums, Paddle Faster I Hear Banjos, Human Beings, Gooder Done, SM&M&Friends, Pure Awesome, Kesmac, and Awesome-ness.
And the evening played out in an unusual way. Each round featured a different team with a perfect score using their Email Extra.
Round 1 was Hink Pink and a lot of teams were in the mix but Victorious Secret, Kesmac, and SM&M&Friends had perfect scores plus the Email Extra. Victorious pulled of the win in a tie break. Those edged out were Booze Hounds, Gubernaculums, Paddle Faster, Human Beings, and Pure Awesome.
Round 2 was Pass the Popcorn, and far and away Human Beings won that… with a perfect score plus the Email Extra. Those close but not close enough were Gubernaculums, Gooder Done, SMM&Friends, and Pure Awesome.
One of the ladies from Pure Awesome won the BBQ.
For round 3 we had WordSweep, and this time the expert wordsmiths were Paddle Faster I Hear Banjoes, and perfect plus Extra. In the wings this round were Pure Awesome, and What Would Tim Tebow Do?
So with each round going to a different team who came away with the overall win? For the 2nd week in a row, Human Beings pulled off the win. Way to go!
It’s gonna be fun next week. Who’ll be there? Will you?
Ciao for now,
- Keith
At Old Chicago on Grant in Thornton it was a nearly full house. The bevvy of teams playing this Thursday were: SM&M&Friends, Catrona, Winning, Trouble, Nonarteriosclerotic Cerebral Calcification, Team Steam, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, Quick Thinking, Victorious Secret, Kesmac, Human Beings, 5280, The Hefty Fellas, and Chodehouse.
Round 1 was Rule of Thumb and had everyone neck and neck. Using the email extra SM&M&Friends won, but barely edged out Kesmac by 1/2 point and 5 others teams by 1.5 points.
Round 2 was Kesmac‘s turn to try, try again. They ended up tied with Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, but Kesmac prevailed this time. 4 other teams were just one point behind.
BBQ went to the young man from Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (so this was their try, try again).
Then for Out of Order and rnd 3. The winners of the first two rounds had what they thought were comfortable leads. But Human Beings did their try, try again and nailed this final round to beat the next closest team by 4 points! Which was Nonarteriosclerotic Cerebral Calcification.
So that was not only good enough to take round 3 but good enough to take top points overall. Congrats to Human Beings for hanging in there! Shout out to Team Steam who was celebrating a birthday – sorry no wins, but hopefully the beers eased the loss.
See you all next week!
We had a raucous Time at Old Chicago Saturday evening we had some teams returning from a hiatus and some new teams bringing fresh competition. The teams who were competing were as follows. Blue Jays, Numb Crotch, Poker Junkies, Rock n Roll, Sea Dogs, Metta World Peace, Suckiest Ninjas, Frank, Drawing Blanks, Buffalo Theory, and Drunken Lullaby’s.
Round 1:Rule of Thumb One thumb to go by, one thumb to confuse them, and with a perfect score tie them. putting the nerdiness aside it was a four way perfect score tie at the end of the first round between Numb Crotch, Rock n Roll, Frank,Buffalo Theory and the winner was…. Winner:Rock N Roll
Round 2:Go Mental This round was mentally frustrating our teams. One team had the mental fortitude to leave the other competitors behind. that Team was Winner:Buffalo Theory
Round 3:Out of Order
Good competitive round lots of teams were vying for the top spot It came down to a tie between Frank and Drunken lullaby’s This tie breaker garnered one of my favorite stylish answer of the evening. Question: How many movies did John Wayne have a staring role in. Frank: all of them(followed by their guess). The winner was Winner:Drunken Lullaby’s
And now for the nights top prize.Wow this was close.
3rd place: Frank 53 1/2 points
There was a tie for the top score the tie breaker was about Skippy peanut butter
2nd Place : Sea Dogs 54 points( Damn Skippy:( )
1st place Buffalo Theory 54points (Damn Skippy!)
well it was a blast I hope to see you guys next week
Tons of fun last night at Old Chicago-Uptown Minneapolis! Teams playing last night were: Snakes on a Bar, Team 1, Redhead, Abbica, Art Students, Free Agents, Honey Badgers, WOlf Pack, Team Funk, and S.
For Round 1, we played Rule of Thumb. Abbica took this round with a perfect score!
For Round 2, we played Go Mental. By using their Email Extra, Snakes on a Bar was able to tie with Honey Badgers and then took the round in a playoff!
Dave S won the BBQ and promises to come back next week to see what else he can win!
For Round 3, we played Out of Order, which was won by Team 1. They also took the night, having the most points, to win the pizza! That was only their second time at MGL. Way to go, guys!
Hope to see you all next week!
